We traded soccer balls for golf balls and raised more than $8,000

The Second Annual Total Futbol Golf Tournament was a resounding success, raising more than $8,000 through the generous donations and participation of many TF families, friends and supporters. The event raised $1,000 for the Red Card Cancer research organization (www.redcardcancer.org) and $7,466 for scholarships to support players who need financial aid in order to participate in travel soccer. Taking place on May 13, 2016, at Reston National Golf Course in Reston, Virginia, the TF tournament was followed by a buffet lunch that honored our outgoing senior class.
Included during the lunch buffet was a raffle. Raffle ticket buyers won more than $4,000 in donated prizes, ranging from two-night stays at a Hilton hotel to D.C. United and Washington Wizards tickets to countless gift certificates at top area restaurants. The hard work and generosity of players and teams who worked on gathering the raffle prizes were honored at the tournament: Herndon Youth Soccer's Crossfire sold the most raffle tickets of any team and two of its players (Avery Bracher and Ashley Grove) came in first and second in individual tickets sales, each winning $100 worth of free Total Futbol gear.
Many thanks to TF Event Coordinator Shirl Sayadian for all of her work on the Second Annual Total Futbol Golf Tournament!
