Midway through the 2018 college soccer season, players formerly coached by Total Futbol are scoring goals at a prodigious rate. As of October 16, 26 players had scored a total of 64 goals in NCAA competition, with 23 of those game-winning goals. Many of the same players (plus a few more) had provided a total of 37 assists. Collectively, 33 TF alums have been centrally involved in 101 college soccer goals to date.

Three players are currently leading in overall points (2 points are awarded per goal, one point per assist) for their teams: Kristin Schnurr, a redshirt junior at Penn State University (7 goals, 3 assists); Jarena Harmon, a senior at the University of Maryland (6 goals, 1 assist); and Emily Kavanaugh, a freshman at the University of Illinois – Chicago (4 goals, 2 assists). Schnurr has racked up two game-winning goals for Penn State while Harmon has contributed three match-winning goals for Maryland.

Three players have posted the second highest point totals for their teams as of October 16: Rubii Tamen, an Amherst College senior (8 goals); Abbey Hoisington, a freshman at Southwest Minnesota State University (5 goals, 1 assist); and Tracey Mills, a freshman at Dartmouth College (3 goals). Two additional players are tied with other teammates as second highest scorers: Kristina Diana, a Virginia Tech senior (1 goal, 3 assists); and Wellesley freshman Elizabeth Zhou (1 goal).

Finally, two players are the third highest point winners for their teams: Audrey Denkler, an American University senior (2 goals, 6 assists); and Abby Alexa, a sophomore at Shenandoah University (6 goals, 2 assists). Denkler has earned Patriot League “Women’s Soccer Midfielder of the Week” honors twice this season thus far. Two additional players are tied with other teammates as third highest scorers: Samie Scaffidi, a St. John’s University senior (2 goals, 5 assists); and Hofstra freshman Megan Fisher (1 goal).

There are a few more weeks until the 2018 regular season and post-season league tournament games wrap up, so we’ll see how many goals and assists former Total Futbol-coached players can add to their already-impressive totals by then.
