Herndon Hurricanes White, coached by Tina Valente and shown above leaping for joy, were Champions at three tournaments in the past five months: the Dulles National Soccer Tourney (Aug. 25-26), the Discovery Cup (Oct. 6-7), and the Capital Fall Classic (Nov. 17-18). Their victory at the Capital Fall Classic earned them a coveted spot at the prestigious Jefferson Cup in spring 2019.
Teams coached by Total Futbol competed in numerous pre- and post-season tournaments from August through December. Many of them put in strong showings against top regional and national competition, tallying twelve Championships and seven Finalist finishes in total. The twelve teams that placed first or second in their divisions played in a total of 74 tournament matches, recording 58 wins, 8 losses and 8 draws and cumulatively scoring 217 goals (2.9 goals average per game) while letting in 45 (0.6 average per game).

Herndon Hurricanes White had a notably spectacular run, winning their division at three consecutive tournaments. Over the three competitions, the squad posted a 7-1-2 record, scoring 13 goals and allowing just three. Head Coach Tina Valente praised the group as hard-working and determined. "I believe the key to their success this season is a team-first mentality," she said. "Each player puts the team's success above their own. They work well together and enjoy each other on and off the field. I am so proud of these girls for always giving 100% and I am so excited that they are seeing the result of all their hard work." On top of ther tournament successes, Hurricanes White won Division I of the NCSL in league play.

Herndon Hurricanes Black, co-coached by Nadir Moumen and Matt Lee, were Finalists in the GU16 Elite White division of the highly competitive NCFC Girls College Showcase (Nov. 30-Dec. 2) in Raleigh, North Carolina. The team went undefeated, with two wins and a draw against tough opponents. They scored a total of four goals while allowing just one to sneak through.
MSI Academy Green, coached by Fabio Vicente and Amira Walcott, were Champions in the GU13 Challenge bracket of the Maryland Rush for the Cup tournament in early September. The squad went undefeated, winning three games and drawing one: they scored 16 goals and conceded just two.
Herndon Crush, coached by Tina Valente, were Champions at the Bethesda Premier Cup (Nov. 9-11), sweeping all four games they played and scoring seven goals while conceding just one.
Herndon Cyclones (shown defending their goal above) were Finalists at the Columbia Fall Classic, prevailing in three games but coming up short in the Final against a talented Takoma Park SC team. Coached by Matt Lee, the team scored 12 goals and allowed just 4 strikes from opponents.
Herndon Thunder Black, co-coached by Nadir Moumen and Matt Lee, were Champions at the OBGC Cup (Aug.29-Sept. 3), blitzing every opponent they met and posting a pristine 4-0-0 record. Along the way, they scored 12 goals and allowed exactly zero.
Herndon Hurricanes White won their bracket at the Capital Fall Classic (Nov. 17-18) by posting a 2-0-1 record, scoring 3 goals and keeping a clean sheet through three games. A bracket win at the Capital Fall Classic guarantees the squad a spot at the prestigious Jefferson Cup in Spring 2019.
Herndon Force, co-coached by Nadir Moumen and Ricky Ramirez, were Champions at the Dulles National Soccer Tourney (Aug. 25-26), prevailing over every opponent they met. In four games, the fearsome Force hit the back of the net 22 times, while their stingy defense conceded a mere two goals.
Herndon Lightning Black, co-coached by Nadir Moumen and Jimmy Brewer, were Finalists in the GU13 White division at the Discovery Cup (Oct. 6-7). The team won three games (11 goals for, 3 goals against) to advance to the Final, but they ultimately fell to a Rockville Centre SC side in the Championship match.
Herndon Lightning White, coached by Jimmy Brewer, were Finalists in the GU13 Champion division of the Dulles National Soccer Tourney (Aug. 25-26). The team posted a 2-1-1 record, scoring four goals and conceding three.
Herndon Force, co-coached by Nadir Moumen and Ricky Ramirez, were Finalists in the GU14 Freedom division of the prestigious Bethesda Premier Cup (Nov. 9-11). The team advanced to the Championship match after winning two games and drawing one (6 goals for, 2 goals against), but lost in 1-0 heartbreaker to a SOCA Elite SC team in the Final.
