Chantilly Thunder are Champions of the FPYC Liberty Cup
March 15, 2015
The CSC Thunder shook off the rust and started the Spring 2015 season with a tournament championship at the 2015 Liberty Cup.
Progressing from a slow start and tough opening game loss, the boys came out strong in the afternoon match and won 1-0 on a goal from Nicholas. The combination of results set them up in a position where they needed to win their final preliminary game to make the Championship. Thunder went down 1-2 in the first half but stormed back in the second half to win 4-2, with two goals from Ben and one each from Boodgie and Nicholas.
The Thunder had a rematch with opening game opponent McLean in the final and played much better the second time around. The boys won 1-0 with Boodgie netting the winner. The whole team played well with lots of energy, hustle, and team defense. Two shutouts were recorded over the weekend from Keegan in goal behind a strong defense of Ethan, Logan, Devin, James and Brandon.
