Herndon United win Greensboro Adidas Labor Day Shootout
Traveling out of town for a tournament is a great way to play different competition and to build team chemistry on and off the field. It’s always nice when the team that’s traveling can perform on the field, too, and that’s exactly what happened for Herndon United at the Greensboro Adidas Labor Day Shootout over Labor Day 2013.
Total Futbol Players Named to Washington Post All-Met Teams for Spring 2013
A handful of Total Futbol players received the highest honor possible for their participation in high school soccer this spring. Being named to one of the Washington Post’s All Met teams requires repeated standout performances through the course of the season.
U16G ECNL Force Champions of Mid-Atlantic Conference
McLean ECNL Force 96’ has finished their regular season as champions of the ECNL’s U16 Mid-Atlantic Conference (13-2-3). In addition to being seeded #6 in the ECNL U16 Champions League Qualification standings, the team was recently ranked #11 nationally by Top Drawer Soccer.
The Chantilly Blast have seen steady improvement since Coach Matt Lee began working with the group a few seasons ago. That growth culminated in the Spring of 2013 as the boys cruised to an undefeated, championship winning Division 2 season.
The Chantilly Storm won the Premier Gold Bracket of the 2013 Virginian Memorial Day tournament. The Storm breezed through their group, comprised of Steel Town Magic, Vienna Patriots Red, and Stafford Revolution Blue. Scoring 5 times and only conceding once, they won all 3 games while no other team in the group managed to win more than once.
Mia Hoen-Beck Attends U17 Women’s National Team Camp
It’s been a fantastic year so far for Mia Hoen-Beck and it continues to get better. Mia plays for McLean Youth Soccer’s U16 ECNL team, coached by Total Futbol Director Nadir Moumen. The team is comprised of many incredibly talented players, and Mia has been able to capitalize on the great overall play of the group to score 20 goals in 14 ECNL games this year.
The Herndon Firecats, despite being a current U18 team, had a number of seniors graduate in the Spring of 2012. 4 of those players signed scholarships to play at Division 1 schools and completed their freshman season this Fall. Those players were Danielle Fitzgerald, Jamie Kator, Madison Smith, and Rachel Ivey.
