2015 SUMMER CAMPS

2015 Total Futbol Camps Combined Serious Training with Classic Summer Fun
By Emily Madden, Total Futbol Camp Director

We welcomed more than 225 campers to Total Futbol camps at the beautiful campuses of The Madeira School (McLean, VA) and Sandy Spring Friends School (Sandy Spring, MD) this summer. Players bonded on and off the field through a variety of activities from rigorous training to navigating a zip line course to "soccer golf" to campfires to whipped cream battles with the coaches (see pictures below). New this year was the addition of baseline fitness testing by TrueAP, Total Futbol's partner for speed and agility training.

Some of the favorite activities included the futsal tournament, where one week’s winning team even succeeded in outscoring the coaches! Competition day was a fun way to wrap up camp each Thursday. Players competed in juggling contests, small-sided games, power shot, and “soccer golf”.

My first year as Camp Director proved rewarding – one of my favorite aspects of camp was getting to know individual campers and watching as elder campers took on the role of mentor to younger campers. I look forward to seeing everyone again next summer!

We’d love to hear your feedback - complete our camp survey and get automatically entered to win $100 in gear from the Total Futbol store.
