Marcos grew up playing soccer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  He played professionally there as well as in the Netherlands and the U.S. He currently holds a USSF “C” License. 

 

Coaching Experience

Joining Total Futbol in 2015, he brings a wealth of knowledge of the game from both his time playing around the world to working with youth teams in the area.  He began coaching in 2002 and has worked with various teams throughout the NCSL, WAGS, and ODSL in the DC area.

He currently coaches the MSI Academy 07B Green team. He also coaches with DC Hyper Futsal, where his U11 group were national champions and his U12 group were state champions in 2018.

 

Playing Experience

Prior to coaching, Marcos accrued a vast array of playing experience in different parts of the world. He began in 1994 with clubs in his native Brazil, including CR Flamengo and Ipatinga FC of the Brazilian top flight. Moving to the Netherlands in 1998, he spent three years with LZV Keypers, a team in the Dutch second division.  His travels then brought him to the U.S. where he played professionally for the Northern Virginia Royals as well as Real Maryland. As well, he spent time on the professional indoor circuit throughout his career in America.
