On October 24, 2014, the High School All-American Game, sponsored in part by the NSCAA, Adidas and Soccer.com, named high school soccer standouts Lauren Harkes ‘15 (Bishop O’Connell High School – Arlington, VA) and Hannah Natanson ‘15 (Georgetown Day School – Washington, DC) to the East All-American team. On Dec. 13, 2014, they competed in the annual game against the West team in Raleigh, N.C.

In total, 42 Fall high school players from across the nation were selected from the senior class for soccer achievements over the course of their high school playing careers. Harkes, a two-time Washington Post All-Met First Team selection, scored 17 goals and provided 14 assists as a holding midfielder in her high school career. Harkes will take the field for Clemson University in 2015. Natanson, a forward and three-time All-Met selection (Honorable Mention in 2012 and 2013, Second Team in 2014) holds her school’s career scoring record with 60 goals and 22 assists. Natanson will play for Harvard next Fall.

Gyau & Hoen-Beck Named to NSCAA Youth All-American Team

On December 7, 2014, the 2014 NSCAA Youth All-America Teams were announced. A total of 80 players (40 boys, 40 girls) were named to the All-America Teams. Mia Gyau ‘16 and Hoen-Beck ‘15 were among the eighteen girl players who made repeat appearances as Youth All-Americans based on Club and US women’s national team competitions - both were also named to the 2013 team. Gyau has verbally committed to play collegiate soccer for Duke University starting in the Fall of 2016. A longtime member of U.S. youth national teams, Gyau was recently named to the Under-18 U.S. Women’s National Team training camp roster and is among 24 players born in 1998 who will attend the camp at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif., from Feb. 1-8, 2015.

Hoen-Beck, who trained and competed with the U.S. Under-17 national team in 2013 but suffered a season-ending injury early in 2014, will play collegiate soccer at the University of Virginia in 2015.

All-Americans and their accomplishments were celebrated and recognized at the NSCAA All-America Luncheon held during the 2015 NSCAA Convention in Philadelphia on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015.
